Anyone know where you can buy the 1930 (Lew Ayres) Limited Edition of 'All Quiet on the Western Front' DVD encoded as Region 2 in the UK? I thought a rudimentary search would have turned this one up, but it doesn't even seem to have been released except as Region 1. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried ebay?
It has only been released as Region 1 as far as i can tell

Can't find it on ebay. It seems strange that it is only available as a Region 1, but the search results seem to prove this. Hopefully a Region 2 will be released soon.
Just found this on Amazon for 9.99 R2

Nope the one on Amazon at 9.99 is the 1979 TV version of the movie. I want a Region 2 of the 1930 Lewis Milestone directed version.
You could decode your DVD player using on of the many net sites and play any region DVD.

hello my friend

i work for a movie magazine and have just seen your posted request on the internet. sadly 'all quiet' is unavialible on region 2 due to copyrighting problems. that and the fact mgm originally re released the video in 2000 and sold only about twenty percent of the stock at rrp. now to find a copy for your collection i can only suggest ordering a region free copy from australia. i had to for the magazines best picture list. we have every best picture winner bar three and are copy was an australian copy. try amazon or google search.

goodluck!
