Have you any? I know every year me and my brothers get a tin of condensed milk in our stocking. Not sure why but it is a tradition.

Dont ask why but we always used to open a packet of rolo's after dinner - with a knife and fork!
My dear old dad was the family washer-upper in his later years, and was also one of those who'd say we shouldn't buy him presents but should spend it on something more important/sensible. In the end, in desperation, he'd say, 'oh, buy me a new dishcloth then'. So we did, and it carried on every year until his death six years ago, bless him, and he always took it in good part.
