Both the Pakistan opposite parties of Bhutto and Sharif have both been attacked many times during the election campaign Musharraf's party has not.

You must ask yourself, Who gains from this?

Al Qaeda?
Bhutto opposed terrorists, but everyone else is campaigning on that. Musharraf is a Key player in the US war on terror, yet his party is untouched. The blame has quickly been pinned on 'Islamic terrorisst' with no evidence to back the claims.

Musharraf?
The opposition in the election has effectively been halved. He didn't what the election anyway, it was outside pressure that drove him to call elections.

The Military Dictatorship?
They killed her father and have been openly critical of her party and her return. They want Musharraf to win, and that is now a step nearer.

The US?
The US have invested literally billions of dollars in Musharraf. They are committed to democracy, but they want Musharraf to win. Bhutto's asassination makes that possibility easier.

It has just been announced that Al Qaeda were, if doubts even existed, responsible for her killing. The intelligence services intercepted a phone call to this effect from Al Qaeda within Pakistan.. When can we expect the US to blast the areas in Pakistan near to the Afghan border?
if that information comes from the Pakistan intelligence services I would be deeply suspicious of it.
jno...... Your figures are from 2001. How many more have arrived in this country since then, not to mention the reproduction rate? I hope you are right. I have nothing personal against muslims, it is the extremism that frightens me to death. Also the violent reaction to everything. I lived in Oldham during the riots in the nineties. it was not a nice place to be. I would not like to see that again. Oldham is full of no go areas for white people. Sad but true.
