panic yee not, i have found it, it was on the linen basket on the second half landing and the metallic effect of the reproduction suit of armour i bought off ebay was deflecting the signal as it is positioned under the concave plaster pseudo gothic arch just below the access door to the second flight of stairs on the 3rd floor outside the guest bathroom

Thats good enough for me , started calling my mobile a cellphone about a year ago , just to annoy my son .
but it's stuck , guess he had the last laugh then .
