It's big news because of the hipocracy involved. Labour (under Blair)has done zilch for the sanctity of marriage and the family, of which the RC religion is very fervent,, he didn't flinch when there was talk of dropping the abortion limit ( Catholics have a big No No where abortion is concerned, so dropping the limit should have been seized upon!)) also he was quite happy with the morning after pill ...and most everything that goes against the religion. Well, you could say that religion and politics shouldn't mix but his conversion was timely and a true Mick would not be able to live and work within an organisation which was so against their principles.
Anyway, I have had a stack of vino and I'm C of E , so what do I care?
His wife went to Sacred Heart School in Crosby near to where I live, so I reckon she's behind it all!
Why bother at all, especially as there is not much difference betwix C of E and Catholic ( except pergatory, Contraception ()which they mostly use anyway)) and guilt which seems to be a burden to Catholics)
I don't know whether Henry Viii would agree though ...or Martin Luther!
