Children's Society Challenge Quiz

Is anyone doing this quiz?
I'm perplexed about the section entitled Greenmantle.
In it you have to pair up a famous person with a plant which he could NOT have had in his garden.
Working on dates I have noticed that they ALL could have had lavender. and that 3 could not have had potato. This is now confused me as I was thinking they required all the people used and all the plants used.
Am I missing something.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I agree it was not a terribly good round unless we have missed the point completely. After all one can hardly be specific to the exact year in a lot of cases as to when plants were introduced. As to Lavender, I did find some reference to the fact that the ENGLISH varieties were not developed until c1600 but, yes, the French type had been around for centuries...... so it is not clearexactly what is wanted
