How posh do you want? The version of the 'Jack Russell terrier' which is a registered breed with the the Kennel Club is officially 'the Parson Russell terrier'. Try looking on www.the-kennel-club.org.uk and then go to their puppy register.It gives a list of breeders with recent litters.

Parson Russells Terriers are not the short legged variety.

Kos, come to west Wales. I know several people near me who have JR pups for sale - in fact, they can't get rid of them!! (People round here don't believe in getting bitches spayed, so there's always a surplus of pups.)

The short legged type are referred to as 'Hunt Terriers' because they were used to go down holes to flush out the foxes. They are not recognised as a pedigree breed but are often pure bred for generations. There is a Jack Russell Terrier Club of Great Britain, although these tend to be slightly longer on the leg. They are also recognised by some Kennel Clubs abroad and shown.

Parson Russell Terriers are the slightly taller longer legged variety which are recognised as a pedigree breed by the Kennel Club.

Sorry couldn't locate any breeders with puppies, nearest I can get is a rough coated JR mated to a German Spitz (small fluffy dog) located near the A1 in Hertfordshire/Bedforshire area. I can give you details if you like.

Hi, Kos - sorry haven't been back to you (blame Christmas!) When do you want one? If you let me know, I'll ask around. A friend of mine has a lovely little JR bitch (very sweet-natured!) & when she next comes into season she's going to mate her (ill-advisedly, if you ask me, as they believe that a bitch should have one litter - rubbish, but hey, who am I to criticise?) Also, the people at the bottom of my hill always have pups for sale, as do the local farm, but their bitch is a horrible, vicious little thing, so you wouldn't want one of her's! I think you can go onto Sportsbank & add me to your friends list, so we can communicate - I'll try it for you. K
