I'm having a seriously ditzy moment - I can't figure out what size curtains I need! The window measures 60inches across and the drop is 54inches. I am getting confused over the width of the curtains I need i.e. are they measured individually or together? Also, if anyone knows of any good websites that sell good ready made curtains at a reasonable price please could you let me know, thanks x

Ready made curtains are usually sold in pairs but are identified on the pack by the actual width of each individual curtain. It's usual to have at least 1.5 times the width of the curtain pole (on light weight fabrics or pencil pleats you'd probably need twice the width). How to work it all out is shown here
The size you need ar 66" width x 54" drop. Sorry dont know the equivilent in metric, but it should still show inches on the packaging.
This means the pack will contain two curtains each one will be 66" wide and 54" drop.
This is approx double the width of you window, and will give you ample gather or pleats.
Don't know where you are natalie, but do you have a Dunelm? They do on line shopping here http://www.dunelm-mill.com/
but if you can get to a store they have a bargain corner with some good buys.
(re the drop...don't forget that washable curtains almost always shrink a little)
my previous answer probably wasnt correct. If your exact drop is 54" then you obviously need to allow a longer drop to allow for the height of the pole, and how far to the floor you want them. But youve probably worked that out already.
