When I asked about Thunderbird and download time, JoeSchmoe said something about a Download manager which might be of help in downloading large files. Anyone (or him!) any information? TIA

only Fresh Download up as a green site. Green is safe.
So Be careful ask if any one on here has used it and if they had any problems That will give you more confidence in trying it.:-D

I have Just found that Free download manager Is available to download free from file hippo which is a safe site (it shows up green) You will find many other useful free programmes on there . it is made clear what is free and what is shareware (not Free). I am giving you a link to it. The only problem is that it is a 5.48MB download a little less than the 6.42MB Thunderbird you had trouble downloading. If you decide to try downloading it I would suggest minimising the the download box once it has started and close your browser till it has finished this might speed things up . Good Luck.:-D
