Does anyone know what classical music was being played during X Factor on Saturday October 1st? It was an operatic type piece, used to illustrate the contestants anguish!

It's the opening of Elgar's Enigma Variations (called 'Enigma Theme').

Yes i wanted the answer to this question too and it took me ages to find it but you can listen to it for free on youtube just type in :
carmina burana-Finale
and then click search
and then click on the first one and that will be it
remember the actual bit the x factor have used is in the middle and nearer the end of the video

I think it might be O Fortuna which is track 2 on the romeo and juliet soundtrack.
