laser treatmnet to stop snoring!??!

Has anyone ever had laser treatment to stop snoring i have spoken to quite a few people that have had it done but then lost their sense of smell, has anyone had this treatment and what were the results?!

I've seen it done a few times(I work in the Op Theatre) and from what I can gather it is fairly successful.  I've not heard about a loss of sense of smell though it is possible.
