Dirty Walls!

I have cream coloured painted walla, and yesterday a kitchen delievry firm got the stair wall dirty bringing all the units down. I tried to clean the marks off with a damp sponge and some cif (jif) but now there are smeary marks all over the wall instead!! Any ideas how I can make the wall nice and clean and normal again?

My grandad swears by sugar soap for dirty paintwork.

The kitchen is downstairs!! The sitting room and bedrooms are on ground floor and the kitchen and bathroom are in the basement. So you have to carry units down the stairs to get to the kitchen!

Go with Hermia - a mild sugar soap solution will do the trick.
