Has anyone got a good simple kedgeree recipe made with smoked haddock all the ones in my books have cream in them which I don't want to use and some have garlic - won't that overpower the fish?

I would be grateful for your ideas.

Thanks

I can't give you exact amounts for fish and rice as it's a matter of taste. This is one we use:
Cooked rice. Smoked haddock cooked and flaked.
2 eggs hard boiled and sliced. 1 egg mixed with half a pint of milk, seasoned with salt and pepper.
1 large onion, preferably a mild one, peeled and roughly chopped.
Soften the onion in a mixture of butter and olive oil.
Stir in the rice and gently add the haddock. Stir in the milk and egg mixture. Keep stirrring gently until this is absorbed. Sprinkle in about 2 Tbs chopped parsley . Serve garnished with the sliced eggs.
Soften chopped onion in lots of butter, then stir in curry powder and cooked rice 'til hot. Add the cooked, flaked fish (smoked haddock or salmon), chopped, boiled eggs and lots of parsley and heat through. Garnish with more parsley and quartered eggs.
