working from home?

i have just bought a new laptop, as my younger sister would never get off the family computer. Now I have this, Is there anyhting i can do from home where i can some extra cash that is legitimate and above board?

The computer is simply the tool through which you achieve your aim. Any work from home means that you have to actively seek the work in the first place.
If you can write computer programs or work different types of graphic and animation software you can do these from home but you need to make contacts and find the work.Similarly if you can type, there is still demand for copy-typing and suchlike if you make the right contacts.
Or if you have a skill that you can sell, like plumbing, cleaning, tutoring, etc you could advertise online or through your own website.
Or you could sell things on sites such as ebay.
As long as you declare your earnings appropriately - to the inland revenue or to DSS if you are claiming - then it is legitimate.
