French foreign Legion - Kepi Blanc
4 Answers
Can any one help? I am trying to find the route that is marched by legion recruits. The name of the march I believe is the Kepi Blanc. The march takes place in the french Alps.
I am planning to carry out a small expedition using this route and I know the general area but not the exact route. I would be grateful for any assistance.

As far as I am aware the 150km Raid Marche [supposedly to receive the Kpi Blanc but in actuality presented earlier in training, at Bel Air ("The Farm"), after a 50km march] begins at the coast near Perpignan on a return to the Basic Training camps around Castelnaudary ("Castel").

This is closer to the Pyrenees than the Alps.
