This really bugs me! Watching eastenders the other day and Roxy was collecting empty plates from the tables of the queen vic so my question is...wheres the chef that cooks up all this food? Have you ever heard anyone actually order it and most importantly wheres the kitchen they prepare it in?

At least in Emerdale theres Marlon always roming around in the pub/kitchen clearly dressed as a chef and in corrie everyones always ordering one of Bettys hot pots...so whats going on with Eastenders, how do they prepare food with no facilities and why if no one ever orders it?

...anyone else ever noticed this?

Phil cooks it .Apple mumble ..When he talks about down in the arches does that mean he has bad feet
Doesn't the Vic looks dirt though!!
I reckon Shooey McPhie is there somewhere, since the motel shut down.
It always seems to be a cheese sandwich that people get when they order food!

oooo I'm glad other people have noticed it! it just seems to pointless surely they wouldn;t get a licence to serve food if theres no where to prepare it?
Its a microwave under the bar. Every now and again if you listen carefully you will hear the 'ping'. Pay close attention next time!
Incidentally, have you EVER seen Betty make a hotpot?? That would shock you to the core, honestly, the giblets and offal she shoves into the damn things would make Bear Gryllis queasy. No oven or microwave in the Rovers (apparently can't afford them up North) she justs sits on them for 10 minutes until they are "warmed" through.
I think we are getting the worlds of fact and fiction muddled up here. Who cooks the melas in the pub would have no bearing on the story and so isn't mentioned.

In a similar manner, you vary rarely see them going to the toilet or watching other soaps as it adds nothing to the storyline even though they are likely to do these things if it were real.
Octavious, my memory banks from ions ago, I seem to remember they all tasted Betty's hotpot didn't they to see if it was good enough to go on the menu, cripes that's going back years now!!
Well I imagine the survivors of that episode still have bowel issues, and don't like to talk about it any more.

Squarebear, what story?? Its a real life documentary aint it?

Some would think so Octavius. I still remember when Pauline Fowler was down on her luck and people were actually sending money in to her!
For the unbelievers who think soapyland is not real, this is the genuine recipe for Betty's Hotpot:

That can't be right, there was definitely a lot of tripe mentioned.

Squarebear, what do you mean? Are you saying she may have fraudlelently profitted from my 1 note donation from my dinner money?
Tripe was replaced by sauce
