This story sickened me to the pit of my stomach too mountainboo. How can anyone be so cruel?

Fortunately, some of the horses have been saved & taken to nearby stables & farms, etc. I know you don't want to hear any news of the cruelty these horses endured, but this snippet gives you the rundown on the person who's responsible:

Take care & sleep well.

Thanks smudge. I'm glad I'm not the only one that is so badly affected by animal cruelty. If I was the judge involved in this case I would give the ******** the death penalty! I know we don't have it here but I'd send them to a state in the U.S that does!!
On the news, the reader said that a 44 year old man was being held responsible for cruelty to the horses & other animals, but on that link, it reads that he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer & criminal damage -so we shall see.

All I hope, is that they make the person/s responsible suffer in the same way those poor animals have!

Oh right. Yeah, I totally agree. I seriously don't know how anybody can do such a terrible thing.
Crossed posts mountainboo. It was bad enough watching the footage taken from the helicopter, so God only knows what carnage the police & camermen found inside the stables!

I'm so glad the saved horses & other animals will be properly cared for now.

Sweet dreams....
Sorry -I think this is shocking BUT it never fails to amaze me how people get so emotional and bay for the Death Penalty (I am anti Capital Punishment anyway BTW) when an animal is concerned.

Animals are not dumb and can cause just as much cruelty to humans as vice - versa (have the physical and emotional scars to prove it).

In the animal kingdom -as with the developed form (humans) there is good and bad.

Any cruelty is barbaric not just with animals.
We are well aware of that Drisgirl - but we are talking specifically about a case of cruelty to horses & other animals in the news today....
ok

Drisgirl, It was kinda the anger talking, but when it comes to utter barbarism like the case of these poor horses, the person/people involved, as smudge says, should be made to suffer like the horses were.
I completely disagree with your comment about animals being able to cause as much suffering. Animals don't lock us up in tiny cages, extract bile from us, starve us, mistreat us, neglect us.
Point taken Mountainboo -but iunfortunately the 'anmals' (dont like that term but I use it loosely) of the human kingdom are capable of the same if not far worse.

I think you misunderstand me -barbaric behaviour is any manner and to whatever living thing sickens me to the poit of my stomach.

Now I know you will think I am being flippant (rest assured i'm not) but people laugh aboput killing ants wasps spiders -whats the difference -cos I wouldnt kill any living creature -I shoo wasps out thw indow even although I potentially dont want to be stung and I always get a spider on a bit of paper and take it outside.
See - I am kind to animals -just that you seem to have to be a big animal for any sympathy from peeps.

Thats just my take and is no way dissing what you said -in fact i thought I was expanding on it to a degree .
Mountainboo,

I completely agree!

It is so so horrendous what has happened, and I hope the people responsible are made to pay!

I see what you mean drisgirl, I'm sorry if I came across abrupt. I completely agree, all animals should be treated the same. I, like you never kill spiders or bee's or wasps. I put spiders outside or in another room and usually run like hell from wasps...
The sickening thing about this is that it took the RSPCA over three years to act.
they eat horses in europe ..... take a look on youtube and see whats on there about animal cruelty this is just a drop in the ocean ,, i don't like to see cruelty to anything however Animals used for racing and show jumping also go through an amount of cruelty as well, I have never seen a horse in a field with jumps in it jumping over them for fun on its own to pass the time of day , without being coerced and kicked by some toff in jodpurs and a whip in there hand........... food for thought thats all........
I agree with you and like you will not willingly kill another creature. I even get upset when I see animals killed at the side of the road.
I hate cruelty in any form whether it is to a defenceless animal or to a vulnerable human being. It sickens me.
I can't even stand to see a teddy or stuffed toy faced down in case it 'can't breathe', let alone kill anything!
