openin gif files

I have recently received some emails with attachments from a friend - but I cannot open the gif files - any help
anyone could give would be appreceated. (words of two syllabls please!)

I assume you have Microsoft Paint . Go to programmes/accessories scroll down to "paint" open the programme(double left click) under the heading"file" scroll down to open,browse to the location of the GIF file,highlight it and click on open.
Alternatively,right click on the GIF file scroll to "open with" and select Paint.
All the above assumes you have no photo viewing/editing programm installed.If you do have such programmes they should open the file.

Your internet browser would be better at opening GIF files as many gif files contain animations that MS Paint will not display.

Start your browser then choose "open file" and find the GIF.

You should normally be able to open GIF files in windows. Make sure that you save the attachments first (you can always delete them later). Navigate to the files and RIGHT click on one of them - choose PREVIEW and you will be able to view them, especially if they are anim GIFs.
