Cub scouts

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but then who is nowadays!?!
Anyway, my son has just joined cub scouts, and made his promise last week. He wasn't given any badges, not even a name tape. As a Guider myself, we give our Rainbows and Brownies a promise badge, Six badge, name tape, county badge at least.
Not knowing the Scouting side of things, I thought I'd get my facts right before I go ask! If it helps, he was a Beaver, and received some badges from them - I hope they're not expecting him to reuse his Beaver badges as I want to keep them as mementoes. They've already reused his Beaver necker, which I think is a bit cheeky!
If any Scout leaders out there can help, I'll be grateful (I've checked the Scouting website, but couldn't find anything)
