MM Links Solutions January 2008 [Week 2]

Yesterday morning, the game was launched with four words posted that players had to guess what

other words had been chosen to be matched with them.

I am now in a position to reveal that Queen Pauline chose the following word pairings:

first LADY
girl GUIDE
garden PARTY
apple JUICE


Yes, they were all followers this week and once again there were many possibilities to choose

from, so who were the psychic ones who earned the points? Did Magyar manage a repeat

performance?

So our Queen Pauline sees herself as an 'Eve' figure who, as a girl guide went to a

garden party where she drank nothing but apple juice. How many of the shrubbery crowd

believed that and went along with those choices? All will be revealed.

FIRST LADY was the first to be matched by the second entrant at 9:01 - jan1956 and then

fordward, lysander & Strix chose the same within two minutes and all get 2 points.

At 9:02 rogerr found GIRL GUIDE and within two minutes, so did Strix getting 2

points each.

Also at 9:02 slaney opted for GARDEN PARTY and within two minutes, so did

fordward getting 2 points each.

The final link lasted only a few minutes more before falling to Antipodean entrant

seekeerz, who, as entrant 18 at 9:08, chose APPLE JUICE

Apart from Strix & fordward (already mentioned - with 4 points each), the only other

double-hitter was wickedtongue for 2 points.

So, whom have I chosen as the '*** HOTSHOT OF THE WEEK ***' ?

I have selected fordward as '*** HOTSHOT OF THE WEEK ***' for being the first to match

two answers so '*** CHEERS ***' to fordward.

As you see Magyar did not manage a repeat performance - in fact he failed to score

anything. Is he still in the lead? Who has managed to overtake him?

I cannot close without saying a '*** WARM WELCOME ***' to new entrant x-ray who

ventured into the shrubbery and was encouraged to enter. x-ray scored 1 point - so why

can't the rest of you do it?

We are on the same wavelength for many things Pauline but certainly not this!!!! In 2 weeks still nil points!!!!

Only just got in from my Sunday night boozing.
I'm so pleased I got mentioned in despatches - even though it was only one point.
Congratulations to the winner and indeed all who took part - I shall really look forward to next Saturday and hopefully increase my score.
Thanks to Pauline and all the rest of you who have added a further part to my enjoyment on AB. How I haven't come across you lot before I don't know, but hopefully you continue to provide the entertainment - not forgetting the help with the crosswords.
