How's Trix

I would like to know where the phrase "How's Trix" originated from and what it means exactly.

Is it just a greeting like "Hello", or does it mean more?

there is no such word as trix. the word is tricks. it is simply an informal, alternative way of saying 'how are you?' or 'how are things?' or 'how's it going?' etc etc

It is "tricks", not trix (I think How's Trix was a pun in  a Neil Simon play). It originally refers to an old line from a Mickey Spillane novel when he spoke to a hooker informant.
