It all depends on how healthy Lady is but small dogs tend to live much longer than large dogs. I used to walk a Jack Russel (her name was Lady) and she lived until she was nearly 20 so as long as you give her plenty of walks and the right diet and of course lots of love there's no reason why she shouldn't go on for a few years yet. Make sure she is not overweight, give her regular exercise and regular checks at the vet if you are worried about anything, and I am sure she will be with your for many years yet. I lost my old girl on Christmas night, she would have been 16 in March and was as happy and healthy as a 2 year old right up until the end.
I had mine until he was over 17 - I got him at 3 weeks because his mother had abandoned the litter.
He had cataracts, very selective deafness, and would have an epileptic type fit if he woke up suddenly. (fall down, lose consciousness and wee involuntarily).
He had the largest 'personality' of any dog I have ever known.
I have two terriers aged 15 and they are just as naughty and sprite as they were when puppies.A bit deaf [ when it suits them ] eye sight not as good but other than that they are still healthy and happy [thank goodness] so your lady has plenty of years left in her.
i just lost my jack russel, molly she was 16, but i have know a few people with russels who have lived to 18!
so i wouldn't worry too much. xxx
