I think certain carpets may cause me to get electric shocks, but a few years ago though, I went through a spell of getting shocks all the time - my hair was also very static to the point of me having to wet it down to stop it flying about!!! Got me thinking now; I will go an explore the google too!

I always used to get them when my children were young, after a while I realised that it was whenever i pushed the pushchair, (nylon wheels) I used to get them whenever i reached for anything of the shelves.
On one occasion I actually knocked a friend off her feet when she pointed at me laughing about the number of shocks I had received.
