hi my sons were christened in a church of england church. does this mean they wont be able to do there confirmation at school. or can they. I am not very clued up on it all. my partner was christened so he wanted the boys christened too.

I was under the impression that only Roman Catholics are confirmed, at about the age of 6yrs - and not at school, in the church!

I'm wondering if you mean that they were Christened CofE and now want to be confirmed in the Catholic church. If this is the case then talk to your Catholic priest or the priest involved with your school. They should be able to tell you what it entails and whether your sons can be confirmed. Nowadays, the Catholic church is very open and I'm sure they'd welcome your sons (or suggest a simple Catholic baptism first, if you are set on them being confirmed Catholic) - just have a chat with them or your son's teacher to find out a bit more.

i was confirmed Church of England at about 12. It is not just a Catholic idea. This was a choice i made to accept the faith at this age. As i had not been christened this was also done the week before as i had to be christened before being confirmed. (I then want on to an all girls catholic church upper school!) So even if your boys go to a catholic school, they can still be confirmed Church of England, the only differnence is that Cof E do it in pre-early teen years whereas Catholics do it around 8-9 years old. its simply to accept the faith rather than having it as an idea made for you.
