I hope somebody can help, i have been having some issues ith my i-pod recently and it was suggested that i 'restore the factory settings'. I know this will remove all my songs from my Pod, but will i loose them from my Libary on I-tunes. I have loads of music on there and would take me forever to put it back on. Any help gratefully received. TIA
You shouldn't lose your music from your library as it is the Ipod being restored and it shouldn't effect your PC, your music files will still be on your hard drive. Once you do restore your Ipod to Factory settings, close Itunes then reopen it. (Your Ipod should still be connected). it should automatically add all of your music to the Ipod. If not, go to sync and it should add the music to the Ipod.
T&S is right. Music stays in your library on your PC hard drive. Restoring you iPod to factory settings will clear your iPod back to nothing, but when you connect it back to your PC it will "re sync" again and put the music back on.
Agree with everything said. I-pods can be very temperamental. On several occasions mine has not sync-ed when I have plugged in to recharge/update so I have had to let it run down to zero then start again and I know others that have had problems. Sometimes you just have to be patient. But your I-tunes library should not be affected.
Thanks for your advice, i reset the settings, last night without loosing any of my libary, it has also sorted out my initial problem, so i am a very happy chick!! Thanks again
