Crocus bulbs
9 Answers
I got a lot of crocus ( not specie but normal spring flowering hybrids) in November, left them in their bags, bags opened for air,in a cold place but forgot all about them. Not surprisingly they've just begun to show 'noses'. What to do? Is it all right to plant them outside now, provided I don't damage the emerging shoots? Will they flower this year, come up blind or simply die on me, never to revive next year?

Might be an idea to cover them with a bit of fleece initially, just to get them acclimatised to being outside, especially if it gets frosty before they come up fully. I know they're hardy, but as they've been inside all winter, better to be safe than sorry.
Hi Fred
Last January, I found some crocus bulbs in the garage that I'd forgotten to plant out, (not the first time)! They had started sprouting, so I put them in pots & by mid spring were popping up nicely! They're opening again now, so it didn't do them any harm!
I did put some sheets of bubble wrap over the pots to save them from the frost mind.
Good luck with yours....
