My friend has recently had 2 weeks in Bhutan , had a lot of yak cheese !! said it's a very poor country but the people were friendly , a very different place to visit .
I spent 6 months there at the UK embassy as military attache. The envirnment and isolation takes a bit of getting used to but once you get past the altitude diffrence it's a stunning place, and te people are very friendly.
Why do you ask?
It is, I highly recommend it, but be warned Bewlay, change is afoot, the young are now demanding freedoms that the average western teen/20 something has, they now smoke, go to nightclubs and such like, they have, Ive been told recently been allowed TV which waqs banned when I was there in the early 1990's
