This answer goes out to everyone that has paid their 1 and entered this year's Harrogate Grammar School Christmas Charity Quiz.
I'm glad that this quiz seems to have generated so much interest this year, as the 1.00 entry fee will hopefully translate into loads of money for charity. It used to have a small circulation among ex-HGS pupils/staff/governors etc. Bearing in mind the 50 top prize, I'm assuming most of you are doing it to support the charity, or as a personal challenge, rather than for the money. Bear in mind the finality of the judge's decision (see below).
My family has attempted the quiz for several years, and has had an especially good go at it this year, mainly because we used do to it together as a family, and my mum unfortunately died in April 2007. Both my sisters and I went to Harrogate Grammar School, and my mum used to teach there for a while. We wanted to do well this year for her.
We used to do it without the internet, but this year have googled every answer we didn't know, and were surprised to find the large number of people that have submitted the questions to a quiz answer site such as this. I didn't know these sites existed. I've not asked for answers from any of these sites, but have read and used those I've found. Thank you, although some of them were wrong.
I'd just like to thank all of you that have found this quiz fun to be involved with, and please tell your mates for future years. I know the judge's decision is final, so you may not win even if you get every answer right, but it's all for charity.
