It might have something to do with their surnames, or at least the names by which they are commonly known. Botticelli is a nickname. Bosch is derived from s'Hertogenbosch his birthplace, likewise da Vinci. Velazquez as an eldest son took his mother's maiden name, he would otherwise have been Rodriguez de Silva. There may be something better, but that's my starter for 10.

I think I've found the connection. They have all called a painting The Adoration of the Magi. Thanks for your help dundurn.
