What does the song "The venus of the soup kitchen" on Prefab Sprout album "From langley part to memphis" mean??..I have listen to it many times and cant work out what the songs about.Any ideas??...thanks

it basically seems to be about fear of failure, insecurity....how people often lie to themselves and tell themselves everything is alright when they are really deeply troubled (cover it up with "boogie dancing" and fake "DJ smiles")...later theres a part describing a dream where the person imagines he is in a soup kitchen for tramps, a manifestation of the insecurities mentioned earlier.

Anyway, for what it is worth,  that's my interpretation!
