Does anyone know why Hayley has temporarily left Corrie ? - I know where she's gone but don't know what has happened to the actress in real life to keep her away so long. TIA

I know she did a one-woman show 'An Evening with Julie Hesmodhalgh' late last year, but how many performances there were I have no idea.

She'll be back in Coronation Street this year.

Julie Hesmondhalgh asked for time off to be with her family - about twelve months I think - and the producers agreed. Obviously she is doing other work in her 'down time', but will be written back in eventually.
