"Flipping" pancakes !!

For goodness sake ! Everyone knows we toss pancakes....not flip them !
Are we not allowed to use the word toss anymore ?
There was a man on GMTV this morning who had a pancake the size of a brick and he was tossing it..........yes, he WAS a ****** !
