how do you kill maggots in the kitchen? (on the floor) they keep coming back & I don't have time to squash them individually- that seems to be the only way to stop them from wriggling also

how do you find where they are coming from?

Flies lay their eggs on food.
The eggs hatch and the maggots eat the food then go walkabouts in your kitchen.
Find the food and clean it up.
Look under and behind the fridge washing machine and cooker.
If your kitchen is clean of rotting food items, the flies will go elsewhere to lay their eggs.

Ray the DJ is right, Im a pest controller, the other place to look is underneath the kitchen units, most units have a plinth that can be removed giving acces to the void beneath the units, in my experience of these things its usually a dead mouse brought in by the cat or just strayed in through an open door and got trapped, good luck, leave no stone unturned and you will find the problem, as for killing the maggots, very difficult with houshold chemicals, just keep bleaching the floor to keep it wholesome.

Get some birds into the kitchen. Small birds such as sparrows, robins and t1ts like maggots. Let some small lizards into the kitchen.

Oh wow - got 3 kids eh?- Make it a game - they can win some cash, say a penny a maggot!!

Got a neighbour who goes fishing? - let him get all the bait he wants free - pick your own maggots!. 

Flood the floor with bleach. Or just flood the floor.

Get the wife to clean the kitchen properly. If you are the wife get your fella off his ar** - get him to clean the kitchen properly - he might want a reward, though.

put your perishables into glass airtight containers to stop any 're-infection' of your Queenslander (which is a house natalie_1982 ). Also, you may like to try a Barrier Guard pest spray (should be available in the supermarket)... it just sounds like re-infection if you can't get rid of them...... I have had this drama... save yourself the trouble.... throw out your perishables!!
