Batman Question?

What is the difference between the Origional Batman and The Dark knight- they both contain the joker, so is it a remake or 'unseen joker', or what?

the original batman was fun and light hearted,
with great fun words like . kerpoW, SPLLAAT, ZUNkk
and so on, both b man and robin were so cool and sexy in their tights.

the remakes are too dark, too serious, no fun.
