I often see answers here saying that the old crt tv gives the best picture, but can anyone tell me where I can get one, about a 28", as I can't find anyone who stocks them, the couple I have found on the internet are sold out, and the manufacturers have stopped making them as far as I can see. When I look at the lcd's etc in the shops they never seem quite as sharp as my old crt unless they are playing dvds of course, is this the trick they use to make them look better?
The computer fair in Croydon had a stand with big CRTs very cheap, 2nd hand CAD ones presumably, but I haven`t been for about a year, so don`t know if they`re still dealing in them. There are computer fairs all over the country if you don`t mind 2nd hand. Anything over 19" was horrendously expensive new.
Hi 'dingaling' ....sorry, but I don't agree. ..Yes, if you look at a cheap LCD monitor the picture is not so good ..but if you look at something like a Sony you get a good picture......equal to any crt.
Hi me again. ....I forgot to add that a DVD does not generate a better picture than a tv transmission. (forgetting HD for the moment)....a DVD generates 480 lines of viewing information TV gives 576. ......of course all this doesn't matter (nor the different types of screen) what matters is what your eyes are telling you is the best picture, and that varies from person to person.
