I went for some shopping on the way home tonight and yes it was chock a block again, but this time I had to fight my way through blooming women trying to get me to enter a free draw, sign up for a credit card, sign up for the AA(I dont drive and I dont think she meant alkys anon) sign up for a weeks free trial of AOL, sign up for new telephone provider, sign up to save money on my fuel bills FFS I only went in for some petfood!!!!! Grrrrrr, if I wanted any of these things I would seek them out myself. Anyone else feel that way :) Hxx

Yes I do, you think they would use some common sense as well. I got asked if I wanted to save 10% recently and I had only spent 2.50.
It also really anooys me in banks when they ask you if you want a card, loan or household insurance etc. If I wanted any of these things I am perfectly capable of doing it myself
lol haysi, I know what u mean, Ive never even had a credit card and dont want one, but they never believe me

I went into a high street clothes shop and there is this girl handing out leaflets and telling me that I can save 15% on my purchases today if I take out their storecard - the APR being 29.8%!!! I politely refused but do you know what? I got the very same sales pitch at the checkout! Its no wonder that so many people get into debt.
some of the staff are forced to 'sell' these cards to make up their wages haysi, I had a friend who 'begged' me to take one in the shop she worked in (to meet her target), so I did then promptly cut it up when I got it home.
Its nonsense

Yes weeal I know that people need to make a living and am probably being a bit unkind but at the end of the day I am getting pretty fed up with these 'in your face' sales people. AND charity workers too. I like to give to a good cause but am getting annoyed with the ones who dont give you a pin or sticker and then you get stopped by the next person along the way as well!
haysi you are quite right, I hate it too and would never take one of these pressure sales jobs as I know just how annoying it can be to folk, I do most of my shopping on the web now, Im not much of a shopper really

I could never be a shop assistant and have to be pleasant to people 24/7 LOL

pmsl - I am SURE that wasnt for me

either on the wrong thread or its for you haysi hon lol
I always feel sorry for those women because, after all, they're only doing their job and nobody ever gives them the time of day even though they try so hard...

...I don't either mind you, haha

LOL weeal, I know that its definitely not for me!

Ace - I am always polite when I say that I dont need a new credit card/telephone or electricity provider and to be honest I was in a bit of a rush. And by the way, the woman who wanted me to sign up for the free draw looked like a terrahawk :0
