Trying to find books I had as a child about Monsters

Hi all. I hope someone can help.

It was a book series about various monsters, I can only vaguely recall two:

In one book there was a rainbow monster.. who was quite small and coloured like the rainbow..obviously

In another a monster who was orangey/brown with a big nose.

I can only remember the brown monster.. he kept drinking the oceans until they were all dried up..(I think he grew too) then (I think it was) His mother told him he wasn't supposed to keep it all in and showed him how to blow the water out of his blowhole. So all the oceans were replenished.

They were a bit similar to Mr Men books in look (I think). It was late 70s/ early 80s..

Oh and I'm British so maybe specifically British books..

it wasn't a frog.. the "monster" looked sort of humanoid I recall
