Tear duct problem

Mr MB suffers with Hypothyroid and in relation seems to suffer with sinus problems aswell. Recently when he blows his nose some white liquid squirts out of his eye at the same time. I'm a bit concerned because he gave me a demonstration as I hadn't actually seen it and I saw quite alot of white liquid squirt out of his left eye as he blew his nose. Does anyone know what it could be and should he see the doctor? TIA

this happens to my dad too. His doctor told him not to worry about it!
