joint notice of severence

My husband left me april 2007
In october of the same year i was served a notice of
severence
Apart from half of the house and contents insurance
he has contributed nothing
Could any one tell me his he liable to half of the
maintence costs to the property
I also have paid out lots in vets bills 3 of our dogs
died since he went He says that they where my dogs
so he wasnt required to pay for them
can some one help me please

How long had you both lived there? Who paid the mortgage? What have your dogs got to do with anything?

We both lived here for 17yrs and the property was bought
without a morgage
