The company is currently up for sale as a going concern so its not gone bust at all. The administrator will contact all concerned parties within the stipulated time limits. And before anyone says, no I am not connected with the company, we lost money last time and we may just lose it this time being a supplier. They have been a superb customer for us for many, many years and these things happen. Its no-ones fault, credit card companies won't act until the company is put into liquidation, which it isnt
I this is the case and the company is in administration contact the administrator.
If is in liquidation contact the liquidator.
At the end of the day you are a creditor, you have paid for a service which has not been supplied.
If the company is in administration the you need to wrtie to the administrator to inform them what your have paid and ask for receipt of them receiving you letter> Trust me the administrator will be paid an fortune for doinf 'F' all so ask him what you want. Hopefully when a buyer is found you should get your gates.
If the company is in liquidation you need to contact the liquidator to tell them that your are a creditor, again ask for receipt of your letter You should then be listed on the the 'list of creditors' and you should receive info of the liquidation through the post informing you of meeting of creditors and supplying you with paperwork you need to fill in. Most inportant being a 'Proof of Debt form' this will show who you are and what you are owed. If there are assets in the firm they should all be sold to pay the creditors, but be warned alot of companies these days have limited assets as everythings in lease/HP and if there are assets the liquidator will take all the money in his fees and that of his solicitors fees etc so an actual dividend (payment of the debt) is very limited in liquidations. Lets hope they have lots of assets.
Good luck anyway you should be able to find out the administrator or liquidator by phoning the company, contacting companies house, or looking in the local paper as advertisement sof the administration or liquidation should be placed there for the notification of creditors.

I have seen the house Rugeley, the Rowleys worked for many years to build the business up, as far as I know they sold up some time ago just after Oct 2004. I visited the factory yesterday, latest official info from Ernst & Young is that 40+ parties are interested in purchasing as a going concern and deadline for bids was Wednesday 5pm. I also saw a customer collecting their gates having paid for them, with my own eyes. So hopefully , all will be well and Cannock Gates will live again..and we will get our goods or money.
I lost my job instantly when the Administrators came in and am owed pay and holiday pay!
The bank put "consultants" in last year who didn't appear to have a clue about a mail order business, and then just pulled the plug, just days after the summer catalogue was printed...what timing?? I bet the printer is furious. Don't blame the workers at Cannock Gates blame the banks.
