Installing a DVD re-writer
4 Answers
I have a Dell computer which has two CD drives, one a Reader and one a Re-Writer.
I wish to replace the CD reader with a DVD RE-Writer.
What is now the best type of DVD Re-Writer to install?

Personally, i use the Irish version of this site:

the NEC ones for about 20 are very reliable, and just plug & play.

don't go on age .... open the box and look (you are going to have to open it anyway).
Always best when asking ... to include little delails (like model number)
you'll see either a small sheathed cable - sata (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=s ata%20cable&source=15&SD=Y)
or
a 40 wire ide ribbon cable (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=10945&doy=11m2)
