With the increase of fatal stabbings and shootings, do you think we should bring back the death sentence? With the advances in dna technology, there is little chance of getting the decision wrong. I was a prison officer for 16 years, and some of the inmates had comitted horrendous crimes. I personally am all for the return of the death penalty. We do not have a proper deterrent, and even a life sentence does not mean LIFE.

completely agree, on another thread today I said send them out to Iraq and Afghanistan
With all the technology now, I'm inclined to say yes! As you say forensics/dna have come a long way. Do you think a death sentence would make a difference though? I do'nt know for sure? How much difference has it made in America? xxx

I do agree with you bullpen, but also think that zero tolerance is a good idea to nip crime in the bud. Also three months behind the door, with an hour out for exercise at the start of any prison sentence. If prison was more harsh there would be far less recidivists.
