Any thoughts on file sharing/peer to peer etc
What do you think??

Are you worried that you might get "caught"?

What will the consequences be?

I don't give a ......... if I get caught as I have got a library of music to last me the rest of me days and I don't download today's music as I think it's crap!!!!

I have used them quite a lot, my only concern is the likelyhood of viruses, as I have occasionally had spyware get past PC GUARD, although when i have done a scan I have been able to clear it off.
I believe everyone is entitled to their pay and nobody is entitled to something for nothing.

It is theft and I am no thief.

Nothing gets past "Avast"
And Ethel I don't steal music i share files . These just happen to be music files and as I say if you put them all in a record shop only a couple would sell!!
They are ancient!!
File sharing is legal. copying for resale is not.
Ethel, charging 10+ for a CD is theft, sharing that cost with people online is just entrepreneurial.

Should we really be paying 10 upwards just so these mega-stars can feed their drug/drink habit?

Surely the kindest thing to do is fileshare. It's like online rehab for them.

I have loads of Dylan stuff from when Winmx was in full swing but have also got about 20 of his studio albums.
The stuff I found on winmx was bootleg stuff which he has now released on Disc.
His latest 3 disc album is ALL old stuff but re-compiled which I already had. I still bought it 'cause I wanted the sleeve notes etc.
However the fist thing I did was download it to my shared files so others could get this re-hash free.
Can't see much wrong in that Ethel!! The "bard" is probably a billionaire anyway
The 10 for the cd doesn't just pay the artist - it also pays:

the people who physically make the cd;
the retailer;
the producer;
the artist who designed the cover...a whole host of companies and their employees.

Studios may make big bucks out of big names, but they also lose big bucks when emerging artists fail.

In the 70s a single record was 60p - now I can legally buy a track online for the same price. It's not a lot to pay.

If I appreciate an artist enough to want to play their music, they should be recognised for it.

I know people who have hundreds of thousands of tracks - they can't possibly appreciate each and every one, or have to time to listen to them properly.

I use the internet to listen to obscure radio channels - I hear lots of different music, and if I like it, I buy it.

And file sharing IS illegal -

unless you own the copyright.
