what would the weather be like in Amsterdam towards the end of May ? Only taking a short mid-week break but dont want it to be too cold ! thanks

Amsterdam is at almost exactly the same latitude as Birmingham, so the weather will be pretty much the same as here. I visit Amsterdam quite a bit, and never notice any difference between the weather when I leave here and the weather when I arrive there. Whether you find it a bit warmer than the UK will depend to a large extent on where in the UK you live - there can be quite a difference in temperature between Northern Scotland and Cornwall, for instance.
