What has happened?

What has happened to chatterbank and some of it's members? I have never read so much hostile and seriously nasty stuff. We all know that it gets out out of hand at times, but nothing compared to the recent stuff that being posted - why have some turned so venomous and do you think this was inevitable and CB has now run its natuaral course?

It's the same week in week out. I've given up getting involved almost entirely with the whole category, if you even make the slightest comment on what you feel is right or what has been inappropriate, you set yourself up for a month of abuse. The only advantage to this category anymore is it stops all the cr@p spilling out onto the other categories.

Actually I have to disagree with goodsoulette unfortunately. I was in Society & Culture last night and one of the posts was attracting some really venemous comments. I think its quite sad when you can't have a discussion without some people resorting to insults and abuse.

Hello toby99, hi Goodsoulette, (hope you are well),

It is kind of sad that CB has deteriorated into a cesspit of vile and vindictive posts where people hide behind aliases to abuse others. Its easy to say rise above it but I know that some folks take it to heart. The mind boggles as to what enjoyment people glean from taking the time to actually sit and type cr@p aimed at pixels on a screen.

I ignore most of it, and think that its only a matter of time until CB is pulled again.

What was it like when CB was pulled (before my time) didn't it just ruin all the other categories as Goodsoulette said?

I tested the water in News the other day -o man -tell ya-think its bad on here -I was hung drawn and quartered.Its far worse -never again.

If they didnt understand my topic then thats all they had to do was say and I would have clarified any misleading parts-but no they go straight for the jugular -wow -nasty nasty.

Not my fault that some were too dimwitted to even understand my subsequent attempts at explaining my post -too much like hard work.

I dont mind when it gets hot in here when I know who it is thats having the spat -cos usually thats all it is.Its just been infested by disruptive cruel people recently -hellbent on giving grief to everyone.

I know what you mean Knobby - I have signed in a few times throughout the past week or so and just signed straight out again. It just isn't enjoyable to even read let alone be involved in.

My advice is to ignore it. Let the vindictive and nasty people fight it out amongst themselves.

I still think that CB wont be around for much longer.

It is hard to ignore it; in the past you just wouldn't bother going into CB for the rest of the night when things got out of hand, but now it is in most categories - I know what Drisgirl is referring to. It is a shame if this is how it is going to be now - it was a good site

Thanks Ice.maiden. I hope so as I am only fairly new and do enjoy it on here - I know we don't have to be involved but it just puts you off coming on the site anyway.

Can't keep track of the constant user name changes either and who is who etc!
