Name Changers

Is there anything you can do Ed to prevent people changing their names once they have registered and signed in? There's no real need to change your name and at the moment it only seems to be causing problems for regular users. Thanks.

Thanks for your query. Currently, users are entitled to alter their log-in names whenever they want. It's done in innocent fun and isn't intended to cause confusion. I'm sorry if this has been the case for you, and I hope you will continue to visit TheAnswerbank.

Does that mean that you can't do it? Because I think most people would agree that by people changing their names it's not fun, and like yesterday for example with jengirl04, England!., jamielee, IM INNOCENT, IM A GENIUS, etc, etc regular users had wasted their time answering questions that may have been fun for the person posting but not for the rest of us.

I didn't find the language used or the content very innocent either!     The insulting remarks about AB users made in these postings was not exactly innocent either.

Remember that every time a username is changed, all the questions and answers in the old username are changed as well.
