Just out of interest can you give us your honest opinion about what you think of us Brits. Also are you born and bred in US of A or have you moved there from somewhere else. Last question have you got a similar site like this over there.

Hi,puss.....well i hope you didn't think I meant the American Southwest! ...as i live in the Uk and have done for almost 19 yrs-lol .....but yes,born and bred in US. I don't think I can give an honest opinion of you Brits cos I have become Anglisised-it's those damn yankees who are weird!! I suppose since I am still here then 'you' guys are ok!! Finally-as for similiar sites to AB....I think we should ask EngTeacher or Clanad that...I have wondered that myself! xx

Oh sorry you always give the impression that you are in the USA I know we get a few on here from over the water and I am just interested to know how they cope with all this argy bargy ( argy bargy is Queens English for arguements)

There is an American site ask.com. I don't think it is as nice as this one. It seemed very pick-up oriented the few times I lurked there.

I do fairly well and don't struggle with the translations too much. I know about the rhyming slang, so can sometimes figure it out on my own. Most are happy to help in that respect.

As for the argy-bargy, I suspect that would be on any site or any gathering of people. It is distressing to hear that people have gotten threats on their personal email or when some make overt threats here.

In general, I enjoy the site and those on here.

Many years ago a Romanian waiter got on my bus and got into conversation with me, the story went that some blokes had been on holiday and invited him to stay "should he ever come to England" and so one day he turned up at their door, no doubt to their unmitigated disappointment.
So I asked him "what do you think of the British abroad?"
"They always drunk" he replied.
Nothing to do with the question but I just thought I'd share it with the group. :-)

Haha,everton.....I just read about a young Russian woman who has written a book about 'us'-all Brits.......and has made very similar observations. She also says all the women are size 22-lol
