I have been involved in a disciplinary hearing and the outcome has been termination. . This has come as a suprise as what happened was not maliciously done and during the hearing it did come out that my manager was quite obviously responsible too, I suspect the fact that I'd already given my notice in may have been a factor in their decision.
However, what's done is done and I'm keen to move on with the rest of my life. This is the first time I have not actually done excellently in my job and is a shock to me so I'm not sure what to do now. I want to apply for other jobs but I don't know what to do about references or how to go about explaining the termination. Any suggestions?
Any advice anyone can give would be much appreciated. I really feel in a pickle here as I already stated, this is the first time I haven't excelled in something I've done and the outcome has completely shocked me and I'm scared about never being able to get a decent job again.
You have resigned. You could ask for an agreed reference but they don't have to provide one. If relationships are still reasonable I'd ask otherwise getting another job may be difficult. Good luck.
