Whats your favourite food which you enjoy when you come in out of the freezing cold?

I love a nice steaming bowl of vegetable soup with plain bread and then a homemade shepherds pie with peas. Washed down with a steaming mug of tea. Sorted!

Hi Goudsoulette, I have never heard of spezzatina - whats that? I love any sort of crumble with hot custard.

Hello Figure, hope you are well, any bread with any butter is ok by me. I make a 'knife and fork' soup with split peas - its so thick, hence the knife and fork LOL xx

Even better to have a hottie in the kitchen preparing the comfort food LOL!
I made Moussaka tonight but you can't beat stew and dumplings!
Spezzatina, is italian stew made with tomatoes ,white wine, thyme and bay leaves. I like cayenne pepper in it to give it a bit of a kick. You should sprinkle it with gremolata once its served (thats lemon zest, garlic and parsley but I chuck in capers too).

Now on the capers subject chicken cacciatore is yummy too.
