Jack Nadin has a fascinating site on the local history of Burnley http://www.jacknadin2.50megs.com/ and he has this to say on the question of such a statue: "Not that I'm aware of! The person making the enquiry might be thinking of the fountain on the corner of Victoria Road and Burnley Road at Padiham - this was a tall structure, but as far as I am aware didn't have an angel on. They must also be getting on years, the fountain was removed to Whitegate Park around 1937, and then to Padiham pool in 1974. This is the only structure I can think of at a road junction."
